Wesley House Organization

Mission:

The mission of Wesley House Association is to provide leadership for the ongoing stabilization of the neighborhood and develop extensive local involvement in programs that enrich the quality of life for all who participate.

History:

Wesley House Association was founded in 1903 in affiliation with the Methodist Church.  In 1925 it began operation as a non-secular organization and became part of the Community Fund, now the United Way. Its purpose was to provide support services for a neighborhood facing serious challenges.

Wesley House serves as an anchor in the community, providing a safe haven for the young and the young at heart.  It continues today as a United Way social service agency that provides ongoing support for youth and families.  The current facility at 4507 Lee Avenue was built in 1952.
